Kobus Partners closes its first renewables acquisition: 8 operating PV Projects in Spain

Kobus Partners, an independent investment and advisory firm in renewable energy and energy infrastructure, has concluded its first deal: the acquisition of 8 PV projects in Spain, located in the regions of Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Castilla Leon and Andalusia.

The portfolio, with an aggregate capacity of 12.5 MW, is expected to generate more than 23 GWh per year, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of 6,500 homes and allows to avoid the emission of 9,200 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The acquisition of this portfolio places Kobus Partners as an active investor in renewable generation assets, focused in stable energy markets, with mature and proven technologies and seeking the assets’ operational and financial improvement.

“The strong fundamentals, asset quality and stability of the applicable regulatory framework, have been the key elements when executing this transaction” explained Pablo Guinot, partner of Kobus Partners. “Our knowledge and experience in the industry, and our commitment to this market, will allow us to position ourselves as the benchmark in the industry, significantly increasing our portfolio in the following months”, he added.

CMS Albiñana & Suarez de Lezo acted as the buyer’s legal adviser in the acquisitions, which were funded with a mix of equity and bank debt.
